I'm sure the title will ring a lot of bells in many of you especially a lot of us who are from Venus :). I am no exception either :). I guess its a part of our feline characteristics that make us run towards the malls. Well, do we need a reason? I do not think so..I run towards it whenever I feel like and my purse is able to bear the brunt :)
My folks keep complaining about the waste that I incur on a frequent basis. It ain't hereditary coz I am the only one in the family who has been impacted by this madness. Well heck...I do shop but then it makes me happy (*a big grin*) :D. In my mind, there are many category of shopaholics and I fall in the "greedy" group :). Let me elucidate for the greater good :)
The Bumpers : This group waits for the big sales and ensure that they show up on Day 1 of any kind of sales. They make the most of it which keeps them happy throughout the year.
Greedy Eyes : That's me and my likes. We shop and one look is enough for us to decide if we have to pick it up or not. Our eyes are big and they run all over the shops/malls. We are the greedy lot :) just like kids in a candy store.
Foxy Beings : This group is the one who make the most of it. They have a budget and effectively ensure that there are no variances in the balance sheet. They know the right places to shop and have a list of stores that exist with the best of variety. They keep updating their repository in a timely fashion.
Haggling Group : They are the shopkeeper's worst nightmare and win their battles in a poetic fashion :). They bargain , bargain and keep bargaining. Bargaining is not bad but these are the ones who will fight for the one paise too which might not be logical in all cases.
Show Me All : These folks will have the energy to go into all the shops in the world and see everything possible under the sun yet buy a single tee if the shop is lucky :) They do end up coming home and complaining how the shops are out of stock :)
Gadget Freak-o-holics : The name says it all. These are the ones who have each and every gadget just for the love of it :) They raid the stores as soon as the new toys are out :)
Lazy Bags : This group just does not want to walk around and spend time in the tsunami malls :) They shop online for everything right from groceries to gadgets :) The cart is delivered at a click of a button.
Two Minute Shopper : Any guesses on this group :) Yay...this goes to our dear men who hate shopping to the core and generally take two minutes to decide. There are exceptions to this group as well :)
These are the ones that I have come across personally but please feel to free to add any other groups that I have missed :) Irrespective of all the other chaos that I actually possess, I love my greedy disorder :) It helps me in various ways like making me gleefully happy , burns calories , keeps my wardrobe in vogue, helps the economy , mood enhancer, keeps me energetic , helps me bond with my girl pals and keeps me my purse light :)
While shopping is fun personified for me, it can be actually problem when it borders the extremes of compulsive buying disorder. Then it definitely is a problem and people would need help. Beuler describes it
as an example of " reactive impulse" or "impulsive insanity", which he clusters with kleptomania and pyromania. Its just a watch out alert :)
Getting back to the happy part...I love my shopping...my small joys of life :D

That is indeed an interesting list of shopping types. Though I tend to know what I want, too many options confuses me, specially because salesman underrates what I had decided on and focuses on some different product.
And then the ones who accompany you, they confuse all the more. So I prefer going out alone. :)
